The P.A.R.T.Y program is a dynamic and interactive injury prevention and health promotion program designed for senior high school students. It stands for Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth.
.
The PARTY program aims to show the possible consequences that can and do happen to people who make risky choices. We would like to help students recognise risk and make informed choices about their behaviour in the future.
A full day is spent at Coffs Harbour Health Campus with various trauma services. Students will meet people that care for trauma patients – paramedics, doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and volunteers.
Through presentations, interviews and simulated clinical scenarios, students will be exposed to the painful journey of a trauma patient.
The program is available for WHS students on 23rd February at Coffs Harbour Health Campus and is free of charge.
WHS welcomes students and parents to show their interest in this program by contacting Mrs Kath Bear (Head Teacher PDHPE) on 6654 1500 or email Kathleen.bear@det.nsw.edu.au.
